3.    Religious Education for Children (CCD)

Mission

To help our children to know, to love, and to serve God, which is to say, to enter into a personal communion with the Most Holy Trinity.  Thirty-five parishioners, of all ages, volunteer their time and talents to help parents – in their role as primary educators of their children – by providing a systematic and structured weekly religious education program using the Faith & Life series.

Registration

Registration is accepted for the upcoming year by filling in a registration form and submitting it with payment to the rectory or by mailing it no later than the end of August.  To print a copy of the registration form, click here

Tuition

$65 for the first child, $95 for two children, and $125 for three or more children

Schedule

Weekly classes begin September 18, 2007 and end May 6, 2008.  We meet on Tuesday evenings from 6:30 pm to 7:45 pm in Queen of Apostles’ School.

Sacramental Years

First and Second Grade:  First Holy Communion

First Penance and First Holy Communion are received in second grade but we require first grade in addition to second grade to prepare the children adequately for this most holy sacrament.  If your child is already enrolled in second grade and you would like to know important upcoming dates, please click here.

Seventh and Eighth Grades:  Confirmation

Both seventh and eighth grade attendance are required in order to receive the holy sacrament of Confirmation in eighth grade.  If your child is already enrolled in eighth grade and you would like to know important upcoming dates, please click here.  If you need any of the necessary forms for Confirmation Sponsor, Service Hours, please click here.

Sacramental Preparation for Any Missing Sacraments

If your child is past second grade age (past 8 years old) and is missing any or all of the initiation sacraments (baptism, first holy communion, and confirmation) or has not made their first confession, please contact the Religious Education Office at your earliest convenience.  We have a special program so that your child may “catch up.”
